How to Write an Online Dating Profile that Attracts Attention

When you start out to write an online dating profile ad that will attract the opposite sex’s attention, you may have no idea how to write that type of profile ad.  This type of ad is necessary to make your online dating experience successful.  You want to be able to capture the imagination and interest of others through your words.  Although this may sound like a daunting task it is really quite easy.  All it takes is a little expertise, time, and effort.

When you talk to a person on the phone, you can get a feel of their personality by the tone of voice but if you are meeting someone online, all you have is their words.  That is why it is important to write a great profile ad.  Many of the dating sites have questionnaires that you fill out so that makes it a little easier.  Just make sure that you are not sidetracked and forget to include something important.  This is why you need to take your time and think before you write.

Make sure that you always read the online dating sites guidelines, and any hints or tips they may give.  It will be easy if you use a word processor software program to write your ad.  This way you can read it over and make any changes, or add something before you copy and paste to your online dating profile page.  Save the ad in case you decide to register at another site.  You can also ad or subtract anything you want plus you have spell check to make sure there are no mistakes.

Do not expect online dating profile to be perfect the first time.  If the ad is not attracting the type of match you want, then you need to reread the ad and maybe make some changes to it.  If you have a trusted friend, you can ask them to read the profile and tell you what it says to them.  Working with someone will help you get your ad correct.

When picking a user name, pick something that says something about you or one that is anonymous.  Do not use anything that gives personal information about you.  Make sure that any headline that appears in lists is catchy and positive.  Do not make a profile too long or too short.  Make it the size that you would take the time to read to the end and use it.
