Online Dating Next Step; Dating and the First Impression

By Twinty Karat

You have finally met that special someone dating partner, and you have been chatting online for several months. You have finally gotten the nerve to ask her if she would like to go out and she says yes. A couple of days before the big date, you suddenly remember that you have been out of the dating scene for several years and you are not sure what you should do because you know dating today is different that yesteryear. Here is some dating advice that will help you make a good first impression.

  • Make sure that you take a bath or shower. There is nothing worse than showing up unshaven, looking dirty, and smelling funky. Women are the cleaner of the species and they will judge you on how hygienic you are. Remember that bad breath and body order are an instant turn off and she will wonder if you are always like this.
  • Arrive on time. If you are late, you are definitely going to give the wrong impression. At first, she may feel as if she has been stood up, and when you arrive late, she will think you are unreliable. You can arrive five minutes early but never late.
  • Give your date a thoughtful gift. This will make her feel special. It does not have to be flowers or chocolate. You have been communicating for sometime so you know something about her. If she collects frogs, you could present her with a frog statue.
  • Make sure that you act like a gentleman. Open the door and let her go in first. When you open the car door, help her in and out. Pull out her chair for her. Be polite to her when you are around other people. This will make her feel special and makes her think you are fantastic.
  • Make sure you pay her compliments. Tell her that she looks lovely.
  • Make sure that you listen to her and ask questions. A woman is attracted to a man who is genuinely interested in her.
  • Make sure that you prepare for the conversation. If it makes it easier, pretend you are talking on chat. Keep the conversation light. Do not talk about past relationships.
  • Make sure that you pay for the date. If a woman insists on going in half, do not resist. Let her know beforehand that you plan to pay for the date.
  • Do you kiss her goodnight or not? That is a hard question to answer. Some women expect it and some do not. Body language and chemistry through out the date will help you decide. If it feels right, make a move.
  • Do not tell her that you will call her if you have no intention on doing so.

I hope that this dating advice will help you when you get to the dating level. Most of all, remember to be yourself, have fun, and enjoy the date. The first date could be the start of a great relationship.
